Natural Teeth Whiteners
Having chipped, crooked and discolored teeth are sometimes embarrassing, and reason enough for you to conceal your smile in photos or in social gatherings. You get conscious because your teeth are one of the first things people will notice.
In making first impression, your beautiful smile with sparkling white teeth can send an impressive aura, thus it boosts your confidence. In fact, most of you use white strips at home or visit your dentist to gain whitening treatments.
But instead of turning to chemically-loaded oral and dental products in the market, below are some teeth whitening remedies which work and are completely safe and mostly natural! Not only they will whiten your teeth but will improve your oral hygiene in general.
Baking Soda And Hydrogen Peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide is an antibacterial agent — it simple kills germs. Just dilute a small amount of hydrogen peroxide with water and swish around in your mouth for a minute, then rinse thoroughly.
Or you can mix a small amount of hydrogen peroxide with a small amount of baking soda to make a paste. Apply on your teeth after toothbrush for only 30 seconds, then rinse your mouth very well. This will remove plaque from teeth.
Oil Pulling (Coconut Oil, Olive Or Sesame Oil)
Oil Pulling is swishing a tablespoon of oil in the mouth for at least 20 minutes. It is effective in eliminating bacteria and promotes healthy teeth and gums.
This is a better and safer whitening procedure which provides many oral health benefits beyond making your teeth look great.
Lemon Or Orange Peels
Citrus fruits including lemons and oranges contain essential oils and helpful acids which whiten your teeth. Rubbing the white part of these fruits directly onto your teeth will produce excellent whitening results.
Brush your teeth and rinse your mouth after applying them for their acid can wear away the enamel of your teeth especially if used too aggressively.
Strawberry And Lemon Essential Oil
This homemade teeth whitening includes one mashed strawberry, three drops lemon essential oil and one teaspoon baking soda. All you need to do is to make a paste by mixing the strawberry and the baking soda first.
Add the lemon essential oil and put mixture on your toothbrush. Brush your teeth for two minutes with these mixture, rinse and brush teeth with your regular toothpaste.
Use this paste after mixing and can be stored for at least 3 days in the refrigerator. Berries contain many antioxidants that can benefit the health of your teeth.
Black Oil (Activated Charcoal)
This absorbing product really works on whitening your teeth. You can directly brush your teeth with a toothbrush dipped in powdered activated charcoal, focusing on the most stained tooth. Sip a bit of water, swish thoroughly and spit. Do this 2-3 times per week.
Another effective method is the popular black oil. This is done by adding 1 tablespoon essential oil (sesame, coconut or olive oil) with ¼ teaspoon activated charcoal powder.
Some add 3 drops lemon oil or chamomile oil for best whitening results. Swish the oil into your mouth for 10-20 minutes, then spit out. Brush teeth and rinse with warm water.
Do this a few times per week, until the desired pearly white of your teeth is achieved. Swish 1-2 times per week to prevent stains from returning.
